THE GONGYO BOOK:

 Every follower of Nichiren's Buddhism should be aware of the existence of the chapter Hoben as a whole. We know Hoben and Juryo but I will talk about the chapter "Hoben". What we know is the part ending by "Nyo ze hon mak ku kyo to". However this chapter is longer, please, do read what follows ..

One can read the 10 "Nyo ze". Then,.. "Ni ji se son. Yoku ju sen shi gi." etc.....

   

  

   

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                               

A last prayer has been added. Each one of us is free to chant it or not at the end of the 5th prayer after the last 3 Daïmoku.

It's about a letter to Sairenbo (p. 1357 of the Gosho Zenshu) from which you will find the following extract "Kitokyo Okuri". You will find the translation into English below.

 

 

 

"On that subject, if the follower of the Lotus Sutra doesn't know any faith regression, if he doesn't cherish or disrespect his own body, if he leaves everything to the Lotus Sutra to decide, if he practises asceticism in conformity with its marvellous words, thus, without even talking about future lives, he will, in his present life, certainly escape dangers and make his life longer. He will possess the great reward of the victorious Law and will accomplish the great vow of huge propagation.
